The North American qualifying stage for DreamHack Open Cluj has reached its closed phase, with eight teams battling it out for two spots at the event in Stockholm. The open pre-qualifiers came to an end in North America on Wednesday, with the likes of Method and GamesAcademy moving on to the closed bracket, in which they will be joined by four invited teams. These eight teams will duke it out in a single-elimination bracket for two spots at DreamHack Open Stockholm, which will serve as the offline qualifier for the Cluj major.
It is worth noting that Cloud9 and CLG will not be taking part in this qualifier as they have already been invited to the Stockholm event after finishing in the bottom eight at ESL One Cologne. Luminosity Gaming, on the other hand, have already secured a spot at the Cluj major following their 5th-8th place finish in Cologne.
